Six days after wisdom teeth extraction — Is it normal to still not be able to open my mouth fully?
I got all four wisdom teeth removed six days ago. Tomorrow is my post-op appointment and I am worried that I can’t open my mouth wide enough for the doctor to see that far back. Is this normal? If I try to open it wider, it feels uncomfortable.

There should be a follow up visit with the Dentist after extractions anyway, so discuss with your Dentist then, or make an appointment or phone call to the Dentists Office and discuss your concerns.
It is a common result of some dental procedures and is call trismus. It can be caused by stretching your mouth too wide to get access to the wisdom teeth or accidentally poking a muscle with the needle when anesthetizing the teeth. The majority of cases will resolve on their own and it can take a few weeks, rarely longer. As long as your tmj or jaw joint doesn’t pop or click or is extremely painful you should be fine sooner or later. Your dentist should be able to determine the prognosis when you go back for the post op.
Teeth and gums hurt 7 months after wisdom teeth extraction?
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted in June of 2011. The holes have already closed, and everything was fine when I went in for the post-op checkup. However, sometimes I have minor dull pain on the teeth that were next to the (now removed) wisdom teeth.
Sometimes the space where the wisdom teeth were hurt as well. I went to the dentist recently, and I have no cavities according to my dentist…So what could be the problem? Could it be some nerve damage, or is this normal?

Go to a new dentist (not the one that took out your teeth) and have him x-ray them to see if something was left behind or if the other teeth are cracked.
Post wisdom teeth extraction, weird issue..?
I had my wisdom teeth out last saturday. All four were impacted. It hasn’t been too bad, though I hated the liquidish diet. So after three days I started eating harder foods as I felt comfortable. I seemed to be healing great and wasn’t in much pain (less each day) til today. Last night I was eating rice and my gum felt weird, the stitches hadn’t dissolved yet either. I looked in the mirror and it looks like the gum on one side of my mouth is pulling away from the tooth. If I push near the bottom it pulls away rather openly. This was unnerving but I wasn’t in too much pain so I didn’t worry. I’m not really in that much pain today either but that spot seems to be bothering me. Anyone know if this is bad. I’m going to post op appointment at 2pm but I was still curious.
Also, if you feel like tackling this, the night before when I was brushing I flinched real hard and my jaw opened wider than I had been able to open it since the surgery, since then it has been sorer. Any ideas, mom says I probably just pulled a stitch and these two could be related.

It is fine, i had the same things happen to me when i had all four of them out.
