Can I Drink Alcohol After Wisdom Teeth Removal

Six days after wisdom teeth extraction — Is it normal to still not be able to open my mouth fully?

I got all four wisdom teeth removed six days ago. Tomorrow is my post-op appointment and I am worried that I can’t open my mouth wide enough for the doctor to see that far back. Is this normal? If I try to open it wider, it feels uncomfortable.

Wisdom Teeth Post Op

There should be a follow up visit with the Dentist after extractions anyway, so discuss with your Dentist then, or make an appointment or phone call to the Dentists Office and discuss your concerns.

It is a common result of some dental procedures and is call trismus. It can be caused by stretching your mouth too wide to get access to the wisdom teeth or accidentally poking a muscle with the needle when anesthetizing the teeth. The majority of cases will resolve on their own and it can take a few weeks, rarely longer. As long as your tmj or jaw joint doesn’t pop or click or is extremely painful you should be fine sooner or later. Your dentist should be able to determine the prognosis when you go back for the post op.

Teeth and gums hurt 7 months after wisdom teeth extraction?

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted in June of 2011. The holes have already closed, and everything was fine when I went in for the post-op checkup. However, sometimes I have minor dull pain on the teeth that were next to the (now removed) wisdom teeth.
Sometimes the space where the wisdom teeth were hurt as well. I went to the dentist recently, and I have no cavities according to my dentist…So what could be the problem? Could it be some nerve damage, or is this normal?

Do You Need To Get Your Wisdom Teeth Pulled

Go to a new dentist (not the one that took out your teeth) and have him x-ray them to see if something was left behind or if the other teeth are cracked.

Post wisdom teeth extraction, weird issue..?

I had my wisdom teeth out last saturday. All four were impacted. It hasn’t been too bad, though I hated the liquidish diet. So after three days I started eating harder foods as I felt comfortable. I seemed to be healing great and wasn’t in much pain (less each day) til today. Last night I was eating rice and my gum felt weird, the stitches hadn’t dissolved yet either. I looked in the mirror and it looks like the gum on one side of my mouth is pulling away from the tooth. If I push near the bottom it pulls away rather openly. This was unnerving but I wasn’t in too much pain so I didn’t worry. I’m not really in that much pain today either but that spot seems to be bothering me. Anyone know if this is bad. I’m going to post op appointment at 2pm but I was still curious.

Also, if you feel like tackling this, the night before when I was brushing I flinched real hard and my jaw opened wider than I had been able to open it since the surgery, since then it has been sorer. Any ideas, mom says I probably just pulled a stitch and these two could be related.

Infection After Wisdom Teeth Extraction

It is fine, i had the same things happen to me when i had all four of them out.

Do You Have To Get Your Wisdom Teeth Pulled

Legal action after wisdom tooth removal and nerve damage?

It’s been 3 days since the removal of my perpendicular impacted wisdom tooth and the numbness is not going away in the left side of my face. What can I do?? My teeth are also numb on the same side.

How Much To Have Wisdom Teeth Removed

sue that bitch im telling you.

That same thing happened to my bro, the fuking doctor wasnt even qualified to do the job, so he cut one of his nerves..he sued him, and he was suppossed to get 250k, but the fuking court said ” not enough evidence” i was like wtf, he cant feel half of his face, nor the doctor was qualified.. but yea, anyways he got like 70k but had to pay the lawyer so he ended up with around 40k

but yea man, tell ur parents about it,im not sure if it stays numb for a few days, ask ur friends who have had there wisdom teeth taken out, and if they say its not supposed to last that long, then sue that doctor man, get paid.. but dont worry very slowly youll get the feeling back, i think my bro isnt on vicodine no more, he quit a long time ago, but he said hes gotten some feeling back into his face, i think he couldnt feel/taste anything on the left side of his tounge or face.. i havnt asked him if he can feel his face part but yea. take legal actions.

There are nerves all over our body, and sometimes they get pinched from swelling and can take time to get the feeling back in them. My daughters entire leg went numb after child birth, dont ask, noone knows why, a few days later it slowly came back to feeling and no other problems. Dont be so fast, to freak out and want to sue someone, bad karma. Contact the office tomarrow nicely, politely and ask them if its normal, and how long is the average to nonaverage time for it to go away. The next step, IF this was to be permanent, is the Dentist to refer you to the proper dr to see whats going on. Still a law suit is not necessary. You do what you can and then go from there. If you are the one person on the planet that never made a mistake in your life, believe me your day will come. Drs are not gods, they practice medicine, and have the sincerest intentions when helping people. At least your not dying in pain is how I would look at it.

You are suffering from paresthesia of the left mandibular nerve. It is a complication that occurs less than 3% of the time. The feeling almost always returns but it may take weeks or months. The dentist did nothing wrong and if you tried to sue him not only would you not win but he may counter sue you for bringing a frivolous law suit.
